Drive along the Seine Valley to the home of Claude Monet, leader of the Impressionist movement. Visit the house, the former studio, and stroll through the garden, a famous source of inspiration for many celebrated artists. Also visit the beautiful new Musee des Impressionismes nearby. Approximately 80 kilometers west of Paris, Claude Monet purchased his home in Giverny in 1890, and built his studio and waterlily pond. His famous works include The Picnic, and themed series such as Rouen Cathedral, Haystacks, Poplar, Japanese Bridge, and the River Thames. Monet donated his beloved Water Lilies paintings to his country and they are housed today in the Orangerie in Paris.

Enjoy the landscapes of the Normandy region on a guided excursion to 11th-century Mont Saint Michel Abbey, located on a rocky island in an immense bay with the highest tides in Europe. The first small church was built and consecrated here in 709 at the request of the Archangel Michel to the Bishop of Avranches. During the Middle Ages, it became a great spiritual and intellectual center, and was one of the most important places of pilgrimage for nearly one thousand years. People traveled to the abbey by roads called "paths to paradise," hoping for the assurance of eternity. Enjoy lunch at the restaurant that faces the island and time to stroll around the village.

Stop at 12.00 AM for lunch at Restaurant Relais St Michel (modern, refined decor with an excellent view of the Mont-Saint-Michel monument).Then, ascension to the monument (by the ramparts or by the village) as far as the Abbey is located on the top.
