How does Monograms compare to DIY (do-it-yourself)?
Monograms is a better value than DIY. When you factor in the cost of airport transfers, admission to attractions, transportation around the city, and the value of the local guide expertise, Monograms does it all at a cost that's far less than if you were to coordinate those elements on your own. Plus, we add in the priceless value of a Local Host to help you enjoy your journey.
Monograms has 60+ pre-set core packages across 6 continents so the idea is that you can choose an all-in-one package that optimizes your experience. With that in mind, you can also personalize your pre-set package by adding extra nights and/or additional cities on top of the core. For example, you can book Rome, Florence & Venice but there are variations to add Lake Maggiore or Sorrento for a more diverse Italy experience.
Can't I just purchase tickets for the excursions I want to go on when I arrive?
There are benefits to choosing Monograms rather than planning excursions on your own, like special deals and VIP-access to key sights.
Are Monograms vacations the same everywhere?
Planned to highlight the unique characteristics of your destination, Monograms vacations do vary by region. Travel styles differ, and what's included on the vacation also varies, as does the type of sightseeing included. On some vacations, you'll explore cities; on others, you'll see natural wonders. Will someone be available to assist me at the destination?
Yes. We provide you with the services of a Local Host, giving you peace of mind that someone is there for you during your vacation. Local Hosts provide area expertise and insider information, and are available to help answer questions, arrange excursions and city sightseeing, give directions, and direct you to the activities that interest you most for a truly personal, one-of-a-kind vacation. Is sightseeing included on a Monograms vacation?
Yes. Sightseeing is provided in each city. Sightseeing varies by region and will be provided by a Monograms representative or by a Local Guide. Please see the itinerary pages for full sightseeing details for each Monograms vacation.
Are meals included on a Monograms vacation?
Breakfast is provided. In general, lunches and dinners are not included to allow you the freedom to mix with the locals. In the more remote areas of South America, Asia, the South Pacific, and Africa, lunch and/or dinner may be included. Want to find the best place for local fare? Your Local Host can help. How do airport transfers work on a Monograms vacation?
Transfers from/to the airport at the start and end of your vacation are included if you have purchased your vacation air-inclusive and you are traveling on brochure dates. Transfers may be included or available for purchase on non-brochure dates, depending on the destination.
How does transportation between cities work on a Monograms vacation?
Transportation between cities is either included in the package price or available for purchase and can be by plane, train, or motorcoach. Transfers during your vacation to train stations or the airport are included. On vacations where flights are required to get from one city to another, passengers who did not purchase intra-vacation flights from Monograms will be required to provide flight information for transfers. What size can my suitcase be?
We recommend your luggage does not exceed the dimensions of 30"x21"x11 (62" linear dimensions) or weight exceeding 50 lbs. Your air carrier may have stricter weight/dimension limitations. Size and weight limitations for carry on and checked baggage vary from airline to airline and even according to destination. Up-to-date information on carrier specific standard checked baggage allowance (including size and weight limitations), the standard allowance (and fee, if applicable) for carry-on baggage, and the standard fee for the first and second checked bag, along with information that additional discounts may apply depending on flyer-specific factors (e.g. frequent flyer status, military, credit card used for purchase or early purchase over the Internet, etc) can be found by accessing www.iflybags.com.
Monograms is not responsible for additional fees imposed by air carriers regarding baggage. Regulations within most airports require that travelers handle their own luggage through customs. No responsibility is accepted for loss of or damage to baggage or any of the traveler's belongings throughout the duration of the vacation. Baggage insurance is recommended. For vacations in Africa, due to limited capacity on safari vehicles and flights when on safari, your single bag must be soft-sided and cannot exceed 33 lbs (15kg) for vacations in Kenya & Tanzania or 44 lbs (20 kg including hand luggage) in Botswana. Due to limited transportation capacity on South Africa vacations, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30"x21"x11" and weight not exceeding 50lbs (22kg) unless otherwise noted in your Travel Documents.
At what point in the planning process should I purchase excursions?
You can view and pre-purchase optional excursions any time after a deposit has been paid up to and including 9 days prior to the excursion operation date. By purchasing excursions and activities beforehand, you have the opportunity to craft a more personal vacation experience and plan your time and budget in advance.
They will also be available while you're on vacation. A list of excursions and activities will be included in your documents for review prior to departure.
To purchase excursions for your Monograms vacation, log in to the MyMonograms site (you will need your invoice/reservation number).
What size are triple rooms?
Triple rooms are the same size as a twin-bedded room (a room with two separate beds of any size). They will have beds to accommodate three people; however, we cannot guarantee that there will be three separate beds. If there are only two beds, a roll-away may be requested but cannot be guaranteed.
Why is it important that I give my name as it appears on my passport when booking air?
If the name you book with and the name on your passport don’t match, you could have issues getting through security. The name on your airline reservation should match the government issued i.d. you plan to use when travelling. Any changes to your air booking, which include spelling, could be subject to a change fee, penalties, or cancellation.
When will I receive my Trip Planner & Accessories?
Travel documents, including any air tickets or itineraries and other information, are sent via an electronic travel document. Your travel e-document contains everything you need to make your vacation a memorable experience. Vouchers may be required for additional excursions and activities purchased through Monograms. Instructions for voucher retrieval will be included with your excursion order confirmation.

Do I need a passport and a visa?
When traveling outside the United States, a passport is required for U.S. citizens. Some countries also require a visa.
We know maneuvering through the world of visa applications and requirements can be a confusing one. We can help. Monograms is pleased to offer its customers the expertise and experience of Generation Visa Services (GenVisa), with fast and easy ways to obtain visas, passports, and/or other documents required for travel. You can check visa requirements for your vacation by visiting the Generation Visa Services Web site at www.genvisa.com/monograms. At this site, you can select your country of travel and the specific tour on which you are traveling, to obtain any necessary visa forms.
Because most consulates require visas only be obtained within 90 days of travel, Generation Visa Service is also able to save your information and e-mail you the latest visa packet when available for your travel dates. As an added bonus, when you identify yourself as a Monograms customer, you receive our preferred discounted rates for visa and passport services.
What is Travel Protection?
The Travel Protection Plan offers important services to help protect your vacation purchase. Under the Trip Cancellation Waiver, you can cancel your trip any time up to departure for several eligible reasons as listed in the plan and receive a refund of the normally non-refundable Globus cancellation penalty amount. If your reason for cancellation does not qualify for a cash refund, you would instead receive a Cancel for Any Reason travel certificate equal to the cancellation penalty amount. Travel certificates are valid for travel within two years from the original canceled vacation start date.
In addition to the above, the plan offers Travel Insurance benefits including Trip Cancellation for independent air arrangements, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay, medical expense, emergency medical transportation, baggage loss, theft, damage or delay coverage, etc. as well as 24-hour emergency assistance services.

What are the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Requirements?
Due to increased travel security around the world, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires airlines to collect this information in accordance with the Secure Flight Program enacted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. If the name on the airline reservation does not exactly match the government issued i.d. you plan to use when travelling, you may not be allowed to board the plane. It is also important that this information be provided correctly at the time of booking, as any changes to your air booking, which include spelling, could be subject to a change fee, penalties, higher fares, new schedule, and/or cancellation. TSA information is required within 10 days of booking air with Monograms.
How are flights coordinated with Monograms vacations?
With Monograms, think of your entire vacation as one-stop shopping. Rather than spending hours researching flights to coordinate with your vacation start and end dates, let us handle the work. And when we book your flights, if there are any changes to your vacation schedule, we make the air changes for you. As a completely independent company, we have no ties to any one airline. We negotiate the lowest possible airfares with the world's finest carriers on your behalf.
Monograms offers two air options - Flex Air and Instant Purchase Air. Flex Air allows flexibility if you want to make changes to your vacation schedule. Instant Purchase Air may offer additional airline options but has more restrictions. Some vacations may only offer one air type option.
Do I get airport transfers?
Regardless which air option you choose when you book your Monograms vacation air-inclusive, the transfer to and from the airport to your start and end hotel is included (on published departure and return dates). This can be a substantial savings and give you peace of mind.
Land-only vacation clients who make their own air arrangements on regularly scheduled direct or nonstop flights (not chartered flights) into terminals may purchase our airport transfer service.
Airport transfers can be arranged when you purchase extra nights before or after the vacation. Transfers cannot be provided when you join late or leave early. Flight information for air purchased separately from Monograms will be required at time of booking the extra night transfers and must be provided to Monograms prior to final payment.
You can fax (303.703.7060) or mail a photocopy of your air itinerary with arrival and departure flights and dates with your invoice number to the Transfer Department. You may also e-mail us with questions. Flight details should be sent apart from other correspondence. Flight details and payment must be received no later than final payment. Time and terminal limitations are provided.
Transfers will be provided only if confirmed by Monograms. Look for confirmation of your transfer in the travel documents.
Can I book a vacation land-only?
Yes. While booking your vacation air-inclusive gives you all the advantages described, you can also choose the land-only option.
How do I book my vacation with air?
Guaranteed air-inclusive prices - air is only available to passengers traveling from the United States and only available when booked in conjunction with a land vacation. An additional non-refundable $300 air deposit is required for Flex Air booked in conjunction with any land vacation (i.e. air-inclusive vacation). Air can only be booked by Monograms in conjunction with a vacation package. Instant Purchase Air requires air payment in full at time of booking (i.e. air-inclusive vacation) plus a non-refundable, per person service fee is required ($50 for Europe/Middle East and $80 for all other destinations). Once booked, Instant Purchase Air is non-refundable, and non-changeable. Some vacations may only offer one Air type option. However, once your airfare is confirmed and Monograms has received your full air and land deposit, your air-inclusive vacation price is guaranteed.
How do you select flights?
Seats for our low-cost airfares fill quickly. We urge you to book early. Air-inclusive reservations cannot be made later than 10 days prior to departure. Additional rules may apply. Ask our Travel Consultants for details. Although we will try, Monograms cannot always honor carrier or flight preferences.
Air tickets will be received two to three weeks prior to vacation departure. For any late bookings, tickets are sent overnight after final payment is received. It is advised to contact your air carrier for special service requests, such as seat assignments and special meals, or, if applicable, to advise your frequent flyer number. Please retain your ticket copy in the event you need it later for proof of your flight; we are unable to supply ticket copies after your return.
Please be advised that electronic tickets will be issued for the majority of air itineraries. If you would like to request a paper ticket, a $50 charge per ticket will be assessed at the time of booking.
Do you offer flight upgrades?
Premium/Business-Class pricing available for most destinations, either on a one-way or round-trip basis.
How are taxes & fees applied to air-inclusive vacations?
Air inclusive price quotes will include all government-imposed taxes and fees applicable at the time of booking and will be shown as a Total Amount. Additional airline fees for baggage may apply. At the time of booking your air-inclusive vacation online, carrier Websites will be provided to check baggage fees, or you can visit www.iflybags.com for up-to-date baggage pricing/restrictions.
The total airfare price, the base airfare price, and the applicable government taxes and fees are broken-out line-by-line and shown while booking online and on the invoice after your travel is booked. For return travel from some countries, international travelers are required to pay entry and/or exit fees at the airport. These fees will be collected by the local government and are payable by the traveler at time of travel. Your confirmation booking information will contain information about these fees.
What is not included in the vacation price?
Charges not included in the land vacation price: airfare to and from the start of your vacation; intra-vacation (unless specified in vacation price); airline baggage fees including checked and/or excess baggage fees; Federal inspection fees for the Federal U.S. Customs and Immigrations; agricultural tax; other per person taxes imposed by government entities; applicable cruise taxes, fees, fares and port charges; passports; visas and vaccinations; transfers; tips to your Tour or Cruise Director, Local Host, driver, Local Guides, and/or ships' crew; gratuities on ferries, trains, and cruise ships; laundry; telephone; mini-bar; alcohol, beverages, and food outside of the contracted menu as presented at a hotel or restaurant (these extra items will be billed to you before leaving the hotel, ship, or restaurant); additional excursions and activities not listed as 'included' in the itinerary; porterage at airports or train stations; Travel Protection premiums; and all other items of a personal nature.
Are Monograms vacation packages disability accessible?
Monograms makes reasonable attempts to accommodate the special needs of disabled and mobility impaired travelers but is not responsible in the event it is unable to do so. Because we cannot provide individual assistance to travelers in many situations, and most of our transportation services are not equipped with wheelchair ramps, we recommend that you view our terms and conditions for details and contact us to learn more.
What are the travel terms & conditions?
The purchase of any travel services offered by Monograms, constitutes a contractual arrangement between you and Monograms, and represents your acceptance of the Terms & Conditions. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand the Terms & Conditions prior to booking.
