Meet a Local Host®

Hello, I am Cici Lee. I am called Li Qian in Chinese—meaning a pretty girl named Li. I graduated from Xi'an Foreign Language University where I majored in tourism and history. Afterwards I worked hard to earn my Senior Grade Qualification Certificate as an English tour guide. I have been working in this industry, for many years, either as a Local Host in Xi’an or as a guide throughout China. I enjoy working to make my guests’ stay in Xi'an a pleasant and memorable one with my friendliness, sense of humor, and knowledge.

Shuyuanmen Market

Located close to Confucius Temple in old Xi’an, this market focuses on the “Four Treasures of Study” which consist of the brush, ink, paper, and ink stone. Here you will find a variety of arts and crafts ranging from paintings to calligraphy. This is a great place to pick up a few souvenirs from your journey.

The Great Mosque and Muslim Street

The Great Mosque, located near the Drum Tower on Huajue Lane, is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China. Built in 742, visitors can admire architectural designs that mix traditional Muslim with Chinese styles. Note: non-Muslims are not admitted to the main prayer hall or during times of prayer. Entrance fee: 25RMB/pp. Follow up with a walk through Muslim Street, the epicenter of the city's Muslim community, dating back to the days of the Silk Road. Enter through the archway under the Drum Tower and sample authentic hand-made Muslim food or peruse local products of the Shaanxi Province and other souvenirs.
