Included private sightseeing starts in a colorful MARKET in the heart of the city, where you will learn about traditional Colombian food. Continue walking through the well-preserved colonial part of the city, La Candelaria, before visits to the GOLD MUSEUM, housing one of the largest collections of Pre-Hispanic gold, and the BOTERO MUSEUM, featuring famous paintings from well-known artist Fernando Botero. Cap your day off with a FUNICULAR RIDE up to Mount Monserrate at 10,000 feet for expansive views of Bogotá. (B)

Today is free to explore the modern city of Bogotá on your own. Alternatively, take an optional tour to Zipaquirá’s fascinating underground salt cathedral. More than 600 feet underground, you will find this monumental architectural masterpiece built inside a salt mine. Following the labyrinth of tunnels, you will find Stations of the Cross, angels, and the Madonna statue inside this unique underground cathedral. Today, it is still a popular pilgrimage site. (B)

Fly to Cartagena on the Caribbean coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of well-preserved colonial architecture. Upon arrival, your private guided TOUR includes a visit to the Monastery of LA POPA. Built on a hillside at the beginning of the 17th century, enjoy the panoramic views of the city, its beaches, and the bay. Ascend via CABLE CAR up the side of mountains and into the valley, taking in impressive views of the narrow streets full of colors and music. Learn about local culture as you reach the Biblioteca España, a unique structure that has become a symbol of the revitalization that has happened in the area. Next, visit Parque Berrio to see one of Fernando Botero’s most famous sculptures, La Gorda (The Fat Lady). Also visit the ANTIOQUIA MUSEUM that houses the largest collection of Botero’s works. Usaquén Flea Market

Held on Sundays in the town square of a residential neighborhood, it is known as one of the most popular flea markets in town, with lots of colonial charm. See artists and artisans with a wide variety of hand-crafted items, such as picture frames, toys, rugs, paintings, posters and jewelry. Food and beverages are also available.

Santa Clara Religious Art Museum

One of Bogotá's most richly decorated churches is the Santa Clara, which now serves as a museum. Built between 1629 and 1674, the single-nave construction features a barrel vault coated in golden floral motif that looks down over walls entirely covered by 148 paintings and sculptures of saints.

Casa de La Moneda

This historic museum, inside the Banco de la República complex, houses the Colección Numismática in the Bogota Mint. The exhibits start with pre-Columbian pots and lead chronologically to misshapen coins with the introduction of a centralized bank in 1880, and the making of the unique tree art on the current 500 peso coin in the late 1990s. Casa de La Moneda is closed on Tuesdays.

Cartagena

San Jacinto & San Basilio de Palenque

Two hours south of Cartagena you will find the village of San Jacinto, a town of indigenous heritage, known for its traditional crafts, music and Gaita instruments. Next stop will be San Basilio de Palenque. Founded by escaped slaves during the 17th Century, this tiny village was deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005 due to its strong African musical and cultural traditions. It is considered the first free town in the Americas. Observe a community where African roots and traditions have been preserved and maintained with a distinct creole language (Palenquero), folkloric dance, cuisine, dress, hairstyles, political organization and social structure.

Electric bike tour through the old city

Morning or evening, when the air in Cartagena is a bit cooler, hop on an E-bike along the old city wall. This 6 mile ride gives you a unique view of the narrow streets of the old city as the town comes alive.

Sunset at Café Del Mar

Take in some of the best views of the city at Cartagena’s Café del Mar, located on the fortified walls of the old city. This is an ideal spot to relax with a cocktail and enjoy the sunset while overlooking the Caribbean, beaches, and the San Felipe Fort.

Medellin Botanic Gardens

Just next to the metro station of Universidad, free visits are available to explore the 40 acre Medellin Botanic Gardens - a tropical forest in the heart of the city. See the impressive palm garden, healing plants, the house of the butterflies and the orchid garden among many others. You can also find several restaurants inside the Botanic Gardens too. It’s a great way to experience this “City of Eternal Spring.”

Parque Arvi

Step outside the city and into nature. Parque Arvi is a beautiful natural park located in the town of Santa Elena is accessible by cable car from Medellin, at the Metro Station of Acevedo. Take the Cable Car to Santo Domingo and then from there you can get to Parque Arvi by another cable car. Once there you will reach the cloud forest, with several trails to enjoy the nature outside the bustle of the city.

Night time at “Parque Lleras”

Be sure to take some time to stroll around this trendy area in Medellin in the evening. This area offers a huge selection of restaurants, shopping and bars. Check out the famous restaurant “El Cielo” (reservation required) and the Envy Rooftop Bar at the Charlee Hotel.
